There are many reasons why your system may become slow, unresponsive, and even frozen at times. One of them has a lot to do with the health of your Windows registry, and with the amount of unnecessary, broken, or corrupted entries in it. WinThruster scans your registry looking for any system-related, user-related, COM, ActiveX, Startup, and Uninstall errors that may be slowing down your PC’s performance. Once located and categorized, this program will not only fix those errors, but will also provide you with the necessary tools to keep your registry clean and free of threats.

The program’s tabbed interface allows you to access all the available functionality in a simple and intuitive way. From the program’s colorful and attractive main window, you can check the current scan status, launch the scanning process, as well as defragment and back up your registry. Note, however, that some of these utilities have been disabled for the trial version, and they will remain locked and unusable until you purchase the corresponding license. This is true for both the registry defragmenter and the back-up tool. An extra lock has been placed in the number of errors the trial version can fix for you, limiting it to a maximum of 15, thus limiting our review to – basically – the scanning process.

The time it may take to scan your system will largely depend on the number and size of your drives and the number and speed of your processors. Having found nearly 300 different errors in my system in less than a minute, I think I can consider it to be a fairly fast scan rate. All these many errors are neatly categorized in groups – those affecting your entire system, those affecting exclusively your user profile, those related to COM and ActiveX components, those related to your system’s startup, and those left behind after uninstalling certain applications. You can then choose between learning more about any of these errors and clicking directly on the “Fix Issues” button. If you happen to be “just looking”, the program will fix the first 15 errors on the list, which may be of not much help if your system reports a few hundreds of “issues”.

Regardless all these limitations, WinThruster seems to offer a fast and clear scanning process and a nice and organized set of error reports. Due to all these limitations, stating how efficiently it cleans and protects your Windows registry from future threats and junk entries would be a purely speculative exercise.

Guest Your review is of only the scanning process? That is not much of a review at all!

Miyamoto Shellings Winthruster contains components from RegCleanPro, which is a program I barely trust. And the installer keeps getting deleted by my antivirus.

Yulian Rohmy Dear Malachi Storie! The built-in check for viruses at Software Informer has detected that the program is clean. Kindly specify the antivirus you make use of.

Miyamoto Shellings Malwarebytes doesn't trust it so it deletes it. It says something about RegClean Pro for some reason.
